Who You Are
An experienced, motivated, and confident Social Worker with strong assessment, safeguarding, and analytical skills. Preferably, you have experience working with disabled children, young people, and their families.
What the job involves
Managing a varied and complex caseload of disabled children and/or young people. You will undertake high-quality assessments, planning, intervention, and reviews. Your duties include statutory social work activities such as Child in Need, Child Protection, children looked after, PLO, and court work. Collaborating with colleagues across health, education, and other agencies to develop coordinated plans is essential. You will contribute to transition planning and Preparation for Adulthood, ensuring professional standards and case management are maintained.
Skills
- Recognised social work qualification
- Current registration with Social Work England
- Post-qualifying experience in statutory social work
- Knowledge of children's social care legislation and safeguarding
- Experience of statutory assessments and plan development
- Experience with Child in Need and safeguarding work
- Communication skills with varied needs children
- Strong multi-agency working skills
- Conflict resolution and negotiation
- Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage complex caseloads
- Understanding of Preparation for Adulthood
