Who You Are
As a Service Manager - Fleet, you have extensive experience in managing municipal fleets, including an in-depth understanding of HGVs, LGVs, and ancillary equipment. You're a proven leader with a track record of making complex, informed decisions within a structured legal framework.
What the Job Involves
This role requires you to take full operational control of vehicle maintenance, fleet management, and transport service functions, ensuring statutory compliance. You'll lead strategic initiatives to enhance service delivery, manage health and safety, evaluate performance, and foster relationships with stakeholders, while operating within budgetary constraints.
Skills
- Current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage
- City and Guilds in motor vehicle technology
- Membership of IRTE or similar professional body
- 5+ years of fleet management experience
- Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Experience in budget management and cost controls
