Who You Are

You are a change maker with the capability to lead and operationalize transformative initiatives within Children's Services. With a background likely in program management, you bring extensive experience in delivering large-scale changes in complex organizations. Your expertise is complemented by a solid understanding of Children's Services, enabling you to gain the respect and collaboration of professionals and stakeholders, including Service Directors, Strategic Directors, and Councillors.

What the Job Involves

As the Family Homes for Plymouth Children Programme Manager, you will oversee a high-profile change initiative aimed at redesigning the support system for children and families in crisis in Plymouth. You will integrate multiple workstreams to achieve our goals of keeping children safe within their families, profiling and matching children in residential care to foster families, providing enhanced support to foster carers, and developing city-based care homes. This role requires not only managing the project components but also innovating and implementing necessary system changes. Your efforts will substantially contribute to the Council's ambition of financial savings of approximately £8m through improved operational strategies. Initially a short-term contract, this role may lead to permanent opportunities within the financial year.
