Role

Who You Are

As a Gardener, you are dedicated and passionate about maintaining high horticultural standards. You have either completed NVQ stage 1 in Horticulture or have at least two years of practical experience in grounds maintenance work. A current, full UK driving license and a spraying certificate are essential. You possess knowledge of mechanical plant/equipment maintenance and plant identification and disorders. You are able to work on your own initiative, meet deadlines, possess good communication skills, and have a flexible approach to both work and people.

What the Job Involves

The role involves working closely with the Streetscene & City Services team to perform practical amenity horticulture. Key responsibilities include grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting and maintaining shrubs, and applying chemicals. You will also maintain sports facilities and perform general soft landscaping tasks. It's essential to ensure the vehicles, plants, and machinery are well-maintained and compliant with health and safety standards.

Skills

  • NVQ Stage 1 in Horticulture or equivalent experience
  • Current full UK driving license
