Who You Are

As a suitable candidate for the Ground Maintenance Operative role, you will be someone who takes pride in your work, ensuring quality service delivery. You possess a clean driving license and ideally have experience in a similar environment. You are team-oriented but can also work independently without close supervision. Your understanding of health and safety regulations, coupled with good communication skills, enables you to work flexibly, including covering emergencies and bank holidays. Welsh language skills are a plus but not essential.

What the Job Involves

The role of Ground Maintenance Operative involves maintaining public spaces to ensure a clean, safe, and sustainable environment. You will be responsible for various activities, including grass cutting, grave digging, horticultural maintenance, and litter collection. In addition, you may need to respond to environmental maintenance requests like fly-tipping and participate in emergency support such as flooding or snowfall clearance. The role requires adherence to health and safety standards and active engagement in ongoing training and development. While primarily focused on grounds maintenance, you may also be involved in related street services activities.
