You listen to children, understand their needs, and provide opportunities for success by leveraging local partnerships. You are responsible for safeguarding, promoting welfare, managing risk, and ensuring community safety.
What the job involves
This role is part of Sefton's Youth Justice Service, working closely with partners to support children. You will prevent entry into the criminal justice system, aid in rehabilitation, and promote positive futures for children involved. You will manage risk and secure public safety while upholding the department and Council's reputation. The position may also involve supervising student placements and requires collaboration with various agencies.
Skills
- Professional qualification in Social Work, Diploma in Probation Studies, Dip HE Youth & Community, or similar
- Post-qualification experience in assessing children's needs and creating intervention plans
- Knowledge of youth justice legislation and child safeguarding
- Experience working with various agencies for successful outcomes
- Experience engaging with hard-to-reach children and families
