Who You Are

A dedicated and conscientious driver with a full, endorsement-free driving license including category D/D1/D1 (101). You are experienced in passenger transportation and possess manual handling training, emergency first aid, and wheelchair securing knowledge. You have a minimum of 4 years of driving experience and have worked with tight schedules and vulnerable people. You are someone who practices the Council’s commitment to excellent customer care, works efficiently, and is committed to providing a safe environment for all.

What the Job Involves

This role involves undertaking a range of passenger transport functions within Fleet Operations. You will ensure the effective provision of services in line with customer needs, ensuring safety, compliance with regulations, and vehicle cleanliness. Key responsibilities include the safe transportation of passengers, maintenance of vehicles, use of communication systems, fare collection, and adherence to operational procedures and training. You will also have responsibility for vehicle accountability and passenger safety, working weekends as part of a rota.
