What the Job Involves

This role requires managing challenging cases, providing an exemplary service, and improving outcomes for children and young people within statutory and organizational systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex caseloads and balancing support and control.
  • Coaching and mentoring student social workers.
  • Conducting investigations into neglect or abuse allegations and instigating necessary legal actions.
  • Preparing legal documents and representing the department in court.
  • Designing and implementing care/protection plans to manage risks.
  • Liaising and negotiating with families and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Promoting best practices and continuous professional development.
