What the Job Involves
This role requires managing challenging cases, providing an exemplary service, and improving outcomes for children and young people within statutory and organizational systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex caseloads and balancing support and control.
- Coaching and mentoring student social workers.
- Conducting investigations into neglect or abuse allegations and instigating necessary legal actions.
- Preparing legal documents and representing the department in court.
- Designing and implementing care/protection plans to manage risks.
- Liaising and negotiating with families and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Promoting best practices and continuous professional development.
